An informative discussion led by various key discussants with deeply rooted insight and experience on philanthropy, social change, movement building, inclusion and transformation, all talking about the impact that home grown African based philanthropy would have in the various movements within Africa. The intention behind this discussion is to build a network of African based Philanthropist who will use philanthropy as an agent of transformation through consultative platforms led by social change agents and activists. Through this discussion we will learn about the various forms that philanthropy exists within Africa, as well as differentiate philanthropy from charity work, while illustrating the need for both in their contexts. This roundtable will consist of various discussants who will have an opportunity to contribute their given topic of choice to the table. This will be followed by a more in-depth discussion on the topic, problem solving and deriving a way forward on the next steps. This will be an open invite to anyone willing to participate in our roundtable discussion, prior brief would be provided, and every participant would be encouraged to participate in the session. Questions and Answer session will be open to everyone, and I will be the moderator for this session ensuring that the time is kept and that process runs smoothly.
