Solar microgrids are the lowest cost option for ending energy poverty for 800 million people. The World Bank says the potential is for 200,000 microgrids, yet only 19,000 exist today – $200 billion in investment is needed, yet only $5 billion has been deployed. The gap is huge and climate finance is critical to scale, along with more conducive government regulations to promote public-private partnership
