We will share in practical terms how we combine an intersectional feminist lens with systemic practice and our new framework on ‘feminist systems change practice.’ In summary, our approach is to first shift power, placing lived experience at the centre and then bring in powerful systems frameworks to move into strategy. Intersectional feminist practice gives us a way to weave in power and intersectional analysis throughout a systems change initiative in an authentic and real way. It offers us a guide to de-centre the dominant narratives as a starting point and to re-centre and listen deeply to the experience of people. Systems frameworks help us to reframe the challenges we see and develop strategies for change based on this new understanding and knowledge. We build community and connect ecosystems that are wiser in their collective actions. We are launching a new Catalyst2030 Chapter to leaders who are working on building ecosystems focused on gender inequity and want to create feminist systems change.
