Our event involves capacity building for students in Kyangwali Refugee Settlement. These are students starting from Primary 5 to S.6. For a long time, students in the refugee settlement have had no access to capacity building and also face major problems in choosing their careers and professions. As a result they take courses they are not interested in because they do not receive proper clarification before deciding. With the YOBAC system of supporting and advising student on how to take decisions regarding their preferred course, we started a capacity building program in 2018, in response to the challenges facing our students. We intend to invite 200 students to the event, which will take place in April of this year. Our activities are: registration for students in the second week of April, designing a banner for the event, identifying a venue, hiring a loud speaker and organisation for the programme in the third week of April. We will purchase necessary supplies and hold the event in the last week of April. Topics: welcoming of participants and facilitators; introduction; defining capacity building; hearing from participants, working in groups (here everyone will talk about his or her career and explain their career choice). After discussing the benefits of capacity building, we will hold a small closing event.
