Testing circular foods systems in rural Ethiopia

We set out to describe the founding of our organisation and the journey that led us to circular food systems and regenerative agriculture as the main focus to fighting poverty and climate change in the most remote regions of Ethiopia. In partnership with IKEA Foundation, Glimmer has recently piloted a circular food systems approach that supports smallholder farmers through planet-positive techniques while capacitating them to establish agribusiness cooperatives centralized around value-add production of their commodities. By the end of the session, we hope to inspire others to invest in innovations to tackle climate change, livelihoods for the rural poor and sustainable solutions to hunger.
