A critical lens missing from most education reform narratives, particularly in India, is cildhood adversity and how education ecosystems need to transform, adapt and be better prepared to respond to this fundamental challenge. However, young people have tremendous capacity for resiliece to adversity provided they are given the right support. Dream a Dream, an innovative, globally recognized education nonprofit in India, shows how youth from disadvantaged backgrounds can thrive and fulfill their potential. Through powerful stories of young people overcoming adversity, Dream a Dream is changing the script and redefining what success can look like. Key takeaways & Outline: 1) Implications of the challenges the young person lived through and; 2) Aspects of the life skills programme, pedagogical approaches and principles of engagement which helped young people thrive in life; 3) Evidence-acked approaches that are being offered to state governments across India to transform education and inform global education reform practices.
