From Empathy to Gratitude is the theme for Hong Kong Momtrepreneurs in 2021/22 to demonstrate that empathy and gratitude – traits commonly found in mothers – can be the quality that makes mothers better leaders not only at home but also at workplaces and the community. Do mothers make better leaders at work? In this session, we will share our findings and thoughts on this topic. We will examine and discuss from the contexts of biological / psychological, social, cultural and historical perspectives from an Asian point of view.

Vključevanje v cilje trajnostnega razvoja 2030

Lanska rast BDP v evrskem obmocju in EU je po tretji oceni 5,3-odstotna, je objavil Eurostat. Lanska 5,3-odstotna gospodarska rast v evrskem obmocju in celotni uniji sledi 6,4-odstotnemu koronskemu padcu v 2020 v obmocju skupne valute in 5,9-odstotnemu zmanjsanju v vsej sedemindvajseterici. Zaposlenost v obmocju evra se je v letu 2021 povecala za 1,1 odstotka, v celotni EU pa za 1,2 odstotka. Stevilo zaposlenih se je v zadnjem lanskem cetrtletju glede na cetrtletje prej tako v evrskem obmocju kot v EU povecalo za pol odstotka, medletna primerjava pa kaze 2,2- oziroma 2,1-odstotno rast. Stevilo dolgotrajno brezposelnih se je leta 2021 napram letu 2020 v Sloveniji zmanjsalo, a se vedno obsega 37.179 oseb. Med njimi je celo več kot 10.000 oseb, ki so brezposelni vec kot 5 let ali vec. Socialna ekonomija in socialno podjetnistvo je tisti del podjetnistva, ki ustvarjajo v druzbi poleg delovnih mest pozitivne ucinke na nacin, da skusajo resevati oz. se vsaj soociti s problem v druzbi. V okviru tematske delavnice bomo skusali predstaviti problem dolgotrajno brezposelnih oseb, s kaksnimi tezavami se soocajo, kako jih premagujejo in na kaksen nacin jih lahko socialna ekonomija vkljucuje na trg delovne sile z namenom po eni strani povecanja BDP Slovenije in po drugi strani za izpolnjevanje zivljenjskih ciljev posameznikov. Poleg tega pa se bomo pogovarjali tudi o izpolnjevanju ciljev trajnostnega razvoja 2030, ki obsega spolno enakopravnost na trgu delovne sile, pravica do dostojnega dela in placila, ekonomske rasti in zmanjsevanja enakopravnosti.

Impactful stories of quality education in a city with wealth disparity

Participants can learn from the two approaches in supporting children and teenagers who experience difficulties in their primary and secondary school learning. One approach involves offering ethnic minority children supplementary learning support outside school to enhance their Chinese language competence for catching up in the indigenous school curriculum. Another approach involves a collaborative intervention with schools by placing university graduate mentors in schools to enrich the curriculum teaching and mentoring. Board members of each organisation will share the importance of Board involvement. Impacts of both approaches will also be shared.

Nurturing an inclusive future workplace through the iCorp model

Creating inclusive workplaces goes beyond the efforts of individual social entrepreneurs. The iCorp Model created by Dialogue in the Dark Foundation builds a consortium of collaborators who play different key roles in defining the future of work that embraces diversity and inclusion. These collaborators include strategic partners who support people with disabilities; funders who support capacity building of people with disabilities; human resources specialists of mainstream business employers; and iCorp Champions who are dominant business players. Participants who attend this session will learn about the processes and challenges in co-creating an ecosystem that defines a future of work in embracing diversity and inclusion.

Bring in stakeholders in government and senior corporates in India who work with crafts and villages to stimulate economic growth. Dialogue could involve participation of Reliance Retail, Fabindia, government advisors, master craftsmen from India, Indonesia, Italy and Belgium. The core idea is to enable a deeper dialogue that will democratize design and skilling through technological intervention, thereby reducing time and money, and bring in effective participation of cross cultural equity between its various stakeholders. Summary and closing should have a concrete takeaway enabling the 3 SDG goals targeted.

Artisan Digi-preneurship – The New Formal?

The event will propose an emerging model that Creative Dignity ( CD ) is developing with Digital Empowerment Foundation ( DEF ) to nurture artisan youth at the cluster level in building digital services that link self-organised artisan units to a digital community of stakeholders. The event will draw on DEF’s experience in digital empowerment of 20 years, along with CD’s vision of building agency for artisan communities. Given that 90% of artisans are self-organised micro entrepreneurs, this could be a model to position as the new formal. The event proposes a discussion around the challenges and opportunities as well as a soft launch of this model.

Not business as usual: how to build business models that blend profit & purpose

The session will cover an overview of the eight steps in the For-Purpose business model workbook and how to implement them. The workbook was developed in collaboration with Bayes Business School in the UK, from research with 10 for-purpose intermediaries in the UK representing over 10,000 for-purpose businesses, and draws on over 90 international journal articles. Participants will learn how to design their impact model, select customers, build products/services and importantly, how to ensure that collaboration with other players in the ecosystem is baked into their model.
