Gamification as an Educational Stimulator for System Change

Gamification in education can improve motivation and engagement. Games for sustainability, which drive change globally, from the beginning of our lives, human beings discover the world through play and games, activities that favor brain development and do not discriminate between historic periods or cultures. Throughout history, human beings have learned through this playful exercise, an endeavor that’s especially linked to our first years of life when a large number of neural connections are gestated. However, these activities have mutated to become an accelerated learning tool with a high impact on the cognitive processes of people of any age. Sustainable development – despite being an imperative for the survival of humanity and for the balance of the planet – is still a strange concept for many people, which is why it has used gamification (analog and digital) to respond to the urgent need to amplify its message and generate paradigm shifts. coFLOWco invites new and struggling social entrepreneurs to join, hear stories of solidarity, and learn strategies protect yourself from exploitation and future-proof your workplace. Through several case studies and personal stories Collective Flow Consulting will highlight the impacts that the pandemic has had on underestimated solopreneurs, small businesses, and startups (including ourselves, our clients, and colleagues). We’ll look at the complex systems inhibiting the growth of new businesses focused on social justice and discuss accountability for social impact. We’ll suggest ways to boost the survival for gender and racially diverse founders and share resources and guidance. This session is for those who want to put their money where their mouth is with DEI, ESG, CSR, and the SDGs.

Estos foros están dentro del contexto de cursos académicos impartidos por el profesor Hiram Arroyo Acevedo, Director de Ciencias Sociales en la Escuela Graduada de Salud Pública de la Universidad de Puerto Rico, Recinto de Ciencias Médicas. 2030 is approaching! And it has become clear by now that the path to reach the Sustainable Development Goals calls for innovation. As the tradition goes, philanthropy driven individuals and institutions spare no expense in the way of Social Entrepreneurship. However, in the world of accelerators and incubators, it has become essential to shift the funding paradigm towards an Impact Investing centered approach around which revolves, among others, the European Social Impact and Innovation Fund (ESIIF). How? You might ask. The first answer is revealed to us by the last SDG “Partnerships for the goals” and the slogan of Catalyst 2030 “Collaborating to achieve SDGs”. Everything around us is a system, from the largest constellation to the tiniest cell, everything is intertwined creating the breathtaking network of nature. Rethinking a funding strategies to build collaborations is the first step towards a successful holistic program implementing the three pillars of sustainable development: the economy, the environment, and the society. Once collaboration is achieved, we should now make sure it lasts by measuring success based on a long-term plan integrated in their KPI’s. Based on the above, this conference will present to you the do’s and don’ts for your funding to make an impact.

The prevailing leadership paradigm overemphasizes masculine values such as confidence, competition and decisiveness, often neglecting vulnerability, collaboration and openness; and focuses primarily on an outside-in, competency-based approach. This practicum aims to awaken both men and women to their innate feminine leadership capacities, through an inside-out, consciousness-based approach, which sources directly from their authentic, resilient, life-affirming and regenerative core. In an experiential and self-reflective format participants will learn how to FLEX between their masculine and feminine nature; to come into their true power and fully human leadership. Learning objectives: understand the need to cultivate presence and connect with our authentic, wise, caring and resilient core. Learn how to exercise its true power (shakti): share power with rather than have power over people. Appreciate the value of diversity and inclusion (D&I), especially the masculine and feminine polarities within individuals and teams. Begin by reclaiming psychological wholeness, bringing the whole self to work (and life). Assess personal masculine and feminine leadership styles and how to flex between the two situationally . Learn from each other’s wisdom and experience in a safe and supportive space.
