It is undeniable that the transition to a net positive, carbon-neutral society is a tough challenge for all of us and requires much of the current inter-sectoral collaboration and maximised efforts to be achieved. Following the COP26 in Glasgow, we call on Ministers of Environment, organisations, businesses and individuals around the world to take part in the transition to net positive by co-creating and committing to tackle the pressing issues of climate change and eradicate its global effects. We welcome you to take part in this session with Paul Polman, a renowned author, investor, businessman, and co-founder of Imagine, a foundation that helps CEOs and the corporate world to tackle some of the most prominent social and environmental challenges.

Ahead of COP27 in Egypt, we call on Ministers of Environment to be part of the process of co-creating and committing to a South-South Alliance for Equitable Green Development together with social entrepreneurs. We welcome your thoughts on how best we can address the inequity of finance/ funding of climate-smart solutions, tap into the opportunities that climate management can provide for development and employment, and chart a pathway for the G7 and G20 to make a substantial and historical contribution. The South-South Alliance for Equitable Green Development will welcome engagement from those across sectors who not only pledge allegiance but demonstrate tangible action for change. Then the work will really begin to formulate an action plan for COP27 and beyond. We welcome you into this process.

A dialogue with Prof John Volmink on the powerful philosophy and practice of Ubuntu Leadership, the spaces where it is manifesting, and its relevance to our current world circumstances. How the practice of Ubuntu Leadership is an embodiment of civic consciousness, and creates opportunities for the realisation of the fundamental essence of the Sustainable Development Goals. Ubuntu leadership offers the recognition that working together is intentional, developmental and requires patience, and that our own humanity can only be truly experienced within our shared humanity.

As we enter a unique phase in the timeline of evolution of our species, join Impact Action Group lead Gautam Malik and an expert panel of speakers in a discussion on how their work creates positive impact by addressing SDGs on gender equality, responsible consumption and production, climate action and ecosystem building in an effort to shape the recovery and help reimagine our future. The session brings together 5 unique social enterprises that are each combining the 5P framework (people, prosperity, planet, partnership and peace) and the 3R approach (reduce, reuse, recycle) to directly address social equity, climate action and ecosystem building along with 12 other SDGs through their work. We have planned a hybrid session where attendees will get to participate in a panel discussion, watch short films on our work, share their thoughts on the world’s most challenging issues and get the opportunity to network with a diverse group of stakeholders and change makers from around the world. Topics like Circular Economy, Waste Management, Regenerative Design, Creative Reuse, Ecosystem Building, Role of Comics & Films in Social Change and other trends will be discussed along with actions towards achieving specific goals.
