Reading National Campaign by Jordan Ministry of Culture and We Love Reading

In cooperation with We Love Reading the Ministry of culture is launching the National Reading campaign which aims to foster the value of reading in the Jordanian community by do the following : 1. Training: The We Love Reading program provides free online training in multiple languages. 2. Books and Stories: trainees are provided and guided to the sources of books and stories, including the Jordanian Family Library, the libraries, and resources of the Ministry of Culture, and the stories developed within the We Love Reading program that discusses several societal issues. 3. Tracking the extent of the program's spread: by using multiple digital tools such as the campaign’s website and a mobile application 4. Multimedia promotion campaign to reach the largest segment of society. And raise awareness about the importance of reading.

Esta sesión tiene un elemento de educación intergeneracional y otorga un cierre transformador a la Semana de Cambio Catalizador.

Peacebuilding Circles and The Talking Piece

Peacebuilding Circles offer a powerful process for building community, engaging meaningful and authentic participation, and even dealing with conflict restoratively. Such Circles are being used extensively in schools, religious centres, community planning, organisations, businesses, and criminal justice systems – fundamentally changing relational dynamics and outcomes. Two core structural elements include the Talking Piece and a foundation of Shared Values and Guidelines. Are you a facilitator who wants to take your practice to the next level? Viewing child development through the prism of intersectional identities

The childhood years spent in a school setting are arguably one of the most significant time periods of a person’s life; it is where one develops a sense of identity, worth and ways to engage with the larger world around them. Across our world, there are a range of intersectional identities such as gender, colour, religion, race, ability, and many more. Owing to the myriad of systemic influences such as social practices, power dynamics, context-based access, etc., children from afflicted intersectional identities face different forms of discrimination and abuse, ranging from subtle to severe, within the school system. This has a tremendous impact on both their internal and external development as a person. There is deep and lasting influence on how the child shapes up; the values and attitudes they build, the aspirations they think they are worth and how they perform socially, emotionally and academically during their school years. Through the session we will hold an inquiry approach to build a narrative on the range of intersectional identities and adversities, and the scale and depth of its influence on how children develop within the school system.

Food Security as a byproduct of environmental stewardship

The medium-term development goal of the project is to enhance the ability of communities to increase and sustain agricultural production for improved household food security, nutrition and income generation while at the same time safeguarding the environment by adopting sustainable agroforestry, environmental, climate and agricultural practices and appropriate technologies in order to avert climate change and contribute to the improvement of education, food in/security, eradication of poverty. The aim is to foster a lasting high quality of life for the local people in Teso while safeguarding long-term environmental sustainability by growing fruits (including fruit and multi-purpose trees) and promoting agroforestry systems by growing trees and fruit.
