Creating inclusive workplaces goes beyond the efforts of individual social entrepreneurs. The iCorp Model created by Dialogue in the Dark Foundation builds a consortium of collaborators who play different key roles in defining the future of work that embraces diversity and inclusion. These collaborators include strategic partners who support people with disabilities; funders who support capacity building of people with disabilities; human resources specialists of mainstream business employers; and iCorp Champions who are dominant business players. Participants who attend this session will learn about the processes and challenges in co-creating an ecosystem that defines a future of work in embracing diversity and inclusion.

Unpaid family carers represent the largest source of care provision worldwide. Caregiving places a heavy burden on carers, impacting adversely on their health (physical and mental), finances and social inclusion. In low and middle income countries, carer burden is further exacerbated by poverty and gender inequality, plus a lack of state welfare systems. As we strive to achieve the SDGs, it is clear that without adequate consideration of the needs of family carers, we will not achieve sustainable change. In the session I will present the five-element Carers Worldwide model to holistically address the needs of carers and achieve long term change at individual, community and policy level. Participants will gain insights and practical advice on how to start the conversation about carer inclusion in their own spheres of influence.

Walking into a Sri Lankan forest is like walking into a medicine cabinet. so said a farmer. And this is true because 1. There is immense bio diversity in such a small space 2. So much of our plant life has medicinal benefits, which supported the indigenous ‘Hela Vedakama’ (medicine) of Sri Lanka. Therefore there is a possibility that Sri Lankan bee honey has great potential to become the next big high value export. But, to date the industry is at a very basic level; there is no formal support, no R & D, very few scientific studies, very few regulations. This is what Goodfolks is trying to change by 1. Conducting research into the quality of Sri Lankan Bee Honey and then finding a positioning in the international market 2. Developing a supply chain that brings employment opportunities to homes, communities and women’s groups (ex: plantation sector women could earn an extra income) 3. Because this is a product anyone can get behind, it has tremendous potential to drive environmental causes. In this session we will be outlining the bee honey story in Sri Lanka. What changes we are making, where we are going, and how you (funders/policy-makers etc) can support us to accelerate this process.

Gen Z and Millennial are the biggest resources to achieve the SDGs in 2030. The hybrid event will be jointly organized by Dev UK foundation (a charity arm of DESCATUK) in association with Alsisar Impact, IIT Mandi catalyst, Ewok ( society for enabling women of the Kamand valley HP) on the campus of IIT Mandi Himachal Pradesh. In India, the first half of session will be held by the invited speakers from Catalyst2030 members, Alsisar Impact and Descatuk and will focus on increasing awareness of SDGs, on individual contributions to SDGs, the need to act now, and on how Catalyst2030 is working to achieve SDGs. The second half will feauture an exhibition of the work of women artisans from Ewok (Empowering women in Kamand valley), who work with sustainable fibres. The call of action is to engage young students in wider continual consultation with Catalyst2030 aim and mission. We will discuss how each of them can contribute to reducing their over consumption, go natural, and help to support livelihoods and gender equality to achieve UN’s SDGs.
